June 3, 2005, was the culminating activity of a three week unit on cake decorating for Mrs. Richard's Personal Development class. Students learned a variety of basic cake decorating skills, as well as how to crumb coat, ice and hot knife a cake in preparation for the decorating process, giving the finished product a more professional look. Each student was then asked to create an original design using their new skills.
Based on the selections made by staff judges, the first place cake was made by Chelsea Courtney. Chelsea will receive a new decorating set as the prize for her winning efforts. Second place honors went to Erika Nix and the third place cake was made by Angie Branham. All of the students did a great job!
