Some of Vincent Library’s books have become tattered and worn looking due to heavy use.  Many of these books are still valuable, however elementary students are not attracted to them because of their appearance.  As one of the drawing projects for the year Mrs. Jensen’s Art I students have each selected one of the tattered books and designed a new cover for it.

To design the new cover each student read the book and developed a design based on the contents.  After the drawing portion of the project was completed the students used computers to create titles and author/illustrator recognition.  Each of the students also listed their name on the book as the cover designer.  Most of the artwork has been finished.  As soon as the books are processed for student use they will be back on the shelves at Vincent.  This project will provide more books that are visually appealing to Vincent students.
